Frequently Asked Questions
Who should attend the Student Success Symposium?
Administrators, faculty, and staff that work to develop, deliver, and support first-year experience programs at their college or university. First-year programs of any style or size will benefit from the variety of topics this symposium has to offer. It is a great opportunity to further develop an existing program, or get the information you need to create a new program.
I noticed that there is a corporate sponsorship.
Does this symposium include a sales presentation?
No, not at all. This symposium includes sessions on a variety of topics pertaining to student success programs. It is interactive and encourages discussion among attendees on the topic at hand. A Kendall Hunt editor will be on-site in the event you are additionally interested in any of Kendall Hunt’s College Success publications or publishing opportunities.
Since Saturday night’s hotel room is included in the cost of the symposium, how do I book additional nights at the same hotel during the symposium?
Simply indicate on the registration form your arrival and departure dates. We will reserve any additional nights for you with the hotel. The group rates are applicable three days before to three days after the official meeting dates, subject to space and rate availability.
Can I use the same credit card that I used for the registration fee for additional hotel nights?
Yes, however you must present that same card upon check-in at the hotel. If you will not have the card in your possession at the time of check-in, a credit card authorization form must be completed ahead of time (at least three weeks in advance) and returned to Lynn at info@studentsuccesssymposium.com. This will avoid potential problems at the time of check-in.
Will I be provided with materials for every session or only the sessions I register for?
All participants are given a binder with presentation materials from every session on the Student Success Symposium schedule.
Are there any meals included with my registration?
Yes. A bag lunch is provided on Friday and a plated lunch is included on Saturday. All other meals are the responsibility of the participant.
